170M range of square body high-speed low-voltage fuses are designed to open rapidly and are the ideal solution for high-power applications which require a compact design that offers superior performance. The fuse contact surfaces are electroplated with a layer of tin that provides an excellent electrical and thermal interface.

A high-speed square body fuse contains a sacrificial link that melts very quickly when excessive current passes through it isolating the overloaded or faulty circuit, protecting valuable electrical equipment, and improving system safety.  Square body fuses typically have a higher operating temperature than other fuses and once tripped square body fuses must be replaced.

Typical applications for square body fuses include power converters/rectifiers, DC common bus, DC drives, transformers, reduced voltage starters and other industrial control gear.
